The world wants to know: What are you doing now?
The great question of the 21st century may not be America's role in an increasingly complex world, the fate of the Middle East or the stability of the global economy.
Central Floridian of the Year
|
Dr. Deborah German accomplished a daunting task in 2008: With an economy sagging and getting worse by the day, she raised $6.4 million to pay for UCF's first class of medical students. "She won over the hearts and wallets of Central Florida," said David Odahowski, CEO and chairman of the Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation. "She's put this medical school on the map." German's will and drive to build a medical school from scratch earned her the 2008 Central Floridian of the Year, named by the Orlando Sentinel's Editorial Board. Now in its 26th year, the designation recognizes the contributions of an individual or a group. Read more about German and her accomplishments here. |
